ABSTRACT

Mushrooms do not have chlorophyll and are heterotrophic organisms which get other organic molecules as their energy sources. Some of particular fungus has its own unique, one of which is capable to bright green glow which is owned by Mycena Luxaeterna. Green glow will be brighter if it was in darkness. The specialty mushrooms that have this characteristic can be utilized at night, especially in rural areas that often found in dark streets due to lack of street lighting. Conditions in the countryside that is still cool, moist, and fertile further support to realize the use of bioluminescent fungi as night lighting, remember its conditions is agreeable to the mushroom habitat. Mushrooms will have a difficult time during the dry season (summer) because the fungus’s habitat is on damp. while in the dry season, environmental humidity levels will decrease. Therefore, fungi need the adequacy of water treatment, sketch of environmental temperature, and modeling of growing media as an important element for maintaining the viability of the fungus. The benefits can be felt apart from the main purpose of the fungi as night lights are shine into road signs, barrier curb, decomposing organic waste, a beautiful night scenery, lighting economical and tourist nights.
